Reitz Memorial Girls’ Track team improved to 14-0 with a 93-22 win against the Harrison Warriors Wednesday. The Tigers won despite leaving much of the varsity team behind for a recovery workout after winning at Castle one day earlier.

Having a limited squad didn’t slow the Memorial Girls’ down, but instead gave some new student-athletes an opportunity to take the lead. The young team did just that, taking first place in 13 of the 15 events.

The Tiger Freshman (featured image) stood out helping the Tigers win all 3 relays, the open 400 and two field events. Pictured from left to right are Katherine Reising, Ellason Stahl, and Audrey Weyer. Nicknamed the “22s” at Memorial, the Freshman class is already making a name for themselves on and off the track.

At Harrison Reising ran with Stahl, Anderson, and Felker to start the meet winning the 4×800 Relay in 12:07.42. Stahl added a first-place finish in the 400m with a 1:11.86 run then finished the meet winning the 4×400 Relay with teammates E. Moran, Clark and Felker in 4:43.17

Audrey Weyer won both of her field events and was 2 one hundredths of a second away from stealing a first-place finish in the 300m hurdles from teammate Ellie Moran who had a winning time of 53.41. Weyer’s two field event wins were in high jump (4′ 6″) and pole vault (6′ 6″)

Not pictured in the featured image was Emma Holt, a freshman running varsity for Memorial’s 4×100 Relay that won with fellow speedsters Clark, Bell and McGuire in 53.19. Holt competed in the maximum number of events and scored points for the Tiger team in all four events (100m – 3rd place – 13:25, 200m – 27.52 – 2nd place, Long Jump – 14′ 4.75).

The remainder of the 13 first place finisher include:

100m hurdles – Ellie Moran – 17.16
100m – Hope McGuire – 12.85 (PR)

800m – Seve Felker – 2:31.73
Shot Put – Illysa Williams – 31′ 2″

Discus – Alexis Schroeder – 96′ 9″
Long Jump – Ellie Moran (with 3 first place finishes on the day) – 15′ 6.25″
