Memorial Boys Cross Country advance to the Regional meet with a 3rd place finish.
The boys had a strong finish at the Sectional meet this past Saturday. The Tigers finished 3rd, just ONE point behind Castle.
Joey Russler led the boy’s team with an overall 2nd place finish, just 16 seconds behind first place.
The Tigers 3rd place finish advanced the team to the Regional meet next week at Prides Creek Park in Petersburgh. The boys made another big leap by closing an 18 point deficit last week to Castle to just one point this past week.
Top 5 teams at Regional will advance to Semi-State and the Tigers are in position to battle for one of those spots.
As the girls have been all season, the boys have finally closed the gap and are racing in more of a pack, which is contributing to their more recent team success. Individuals that represented Memorial in this past weekend Sectional meet are as follows:
Joey Russler (2nd) and Sean Thomas (14th), Andre Alvey (18th), Bennett Kain (19th), Andrew Golba (22nd), Jackson Cutrell (27th), Camren Dollison (43rd)
Despite Camren’s fall at the 1K, which resulted in a team 7th place finish, the team was able to still advance to the Regional meet. Camren is usually in our top 3. We look forward to him being full strength at the Regional meet.
