Have you ever wondered why Memorial High School uses the tiger as a mascot?
In 1925, when Memorial first opened its doors, the Brothers of Holy Cross from Notre Dame University helped start the school and supplied many of the teachers. That same year, the Brothers of the Holy Cross also sent missionaries to Bengal (currently the country of Bangladesh). While there, the missionaries observed the power, beauty, and awe of the tigers. They immediately saw the connection: a tiger best represented what it means to belong to Reitz Memorial High School.
